URALLA’S Thunderbolt’s Festival is set to be even bigger and better in 2008 with something for everyone.
This year the event has been coordinated with Harleys for Helicopters and organisers are expecting the collaboration to be a hit.
The Harleys for Helicopters Turkey Run will be held in conjunction with the Thunderbolt’s Festival this year as part of their annual fundraiser for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
The Turkey Run is a major fundraising event named in memory of Uralla born Sandy Philp, who passed away after a battle with Asbestosis.
The Turkey Run starts in Newcastle, where Sandy lived, and winds up in Uralla, this year converging on the fun at the Thunderbolt’s Festival.
The festival is on October 25 and features the reprisal of many of the much-loved sections and the introduction of some new and improved entertainment.
As part of the Turkey Run a fresh festivity coming directly from Newcastle is in the form of the Newcastle Knights players - the rugby league legends will be running a coaching clinic at Woodville Oval for all of Uralla’s avid footy fans.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter will land at the rugby league ground and the Newcastle Knights players will arrive and participate in the street parade before heading back to the rugby league ground for merchandise signing and giveaways.
